No matter your feelings good or bad about past summer camps, band camps, or any other kinds of camps you’ve been to, the best camp by far has to be Grape Camp.

The Sonoma County Grape Camp Immersion Trip is a hands-on wine harvest adventure happening this September 28 through October 1 where you get to work a little, eat a lot, meet the locals who do this for a living, and drink the results of your labor.

The three-day camp is back by popular demand after taking a few years off, beloved for its way of translating the magic of harvest to anyone who’s wondered what it takes to produce a bottle of wine, when the sights, smells and dynamism of fall are at their fullest. Campers will enjoy gathering around the table with Sonoma County farmers and winemakers to enjoy meals after a day of picking grapes, blending wines and learning more about the diversity of grapes that grow here, more than 100 types in all.

Along the way, vineyard farmers will share their family stories and histories, which in many cases reach back a century ago. Behind-the-scenes winery tours will follow the grapes from field to crush pad to cellar as they ferment and turn into wine. In between, sommeliers will lead campers in tastings to train the senses to expert-level aromas, flavors, textures and nuances in wine.

The experience begins with a luxurious welcome reception followed by farm-to-table meals and curated dinners throughout camp. Priced at $5,000 for a single camper or $7,500 for a couple, included are all meals, experience, transportation within Sonoma County and accommodation. All you have to do is get here.

Grape Camp would be a great way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or have a mini-reunion with friends or family. It’s also a perfect way to team-build or bond across departments of a company, wine-related or not. In wine, get your sales or marketing teams to get their hands dirty and better understand wine. Harvest is the best time to be in Sonoma County.
