About Our Speakers:
Mark Battany: Mark Battany has been a UCCE Farm Advisor since 2001. He served as the Viticulture Advisor for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties until 2018, and now serves as the Water Management and Biometeorology Advisor for the same region. Mark received his B.S. in Agronomy from Colorado State University and M.S. in Hydrologic Sciences from UC Davis. Mark primarily focuses his program on topics of irrigation, soil and salinity, and frost protection.
Mark Greenspan: Dr. Mark Greenspan is a viticulturist who founded Advanced Viticulture, based in Windsor, and has been operating and growing his business for 16 years. His company delivers multifaceted vineyard consulting with emphasis on water and nutrient management, provides vineyard technologies and automation, and is a full-service vineyard management and development company for high-end operations. Mark has a M.S. in Viticulture and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering, both from UC Davis.
