| The Sonoma County Wine Star program was developed in 2007 by the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission, comprised of 1,800 winegrape growers in Sonoma and Marin counties, to recognize restaurants and wineries that are committed to supporting the people in Sonoma County that produce premier grapes, wines and foods in this beautiful area. | ![]() |
Initially, the program was open to local Sonoma County restaurants and wineries. In 2008, we have expanded it to include restaurants and wineries in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. In 2009, we included restaurants from across the country.
If you become a Sonoma Wine Star, you will be recognized in national and local ads, publicity and websites with links to your restaurants and wineries (see details on entry criteria document below).
You will also be presented with an attractive gift at the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission annual BBQ luncheon (date and location to be announced).
Below is the Sonoma Wine Star criteria and the application forms. If you have any questions, please contact Larry Levine at larry.levine@sonomawinegrape.org Nick Frey at frey@sonomawinegrape.org or call 707-522-5860.
2009 Wine Star entry period now closed.
