Vineyard Materials Recycling Day!

Published on November 3, 2014

Sixty-seven growers participated in the Fall Plastic Pesticide Container Recycling Day in Healdsburg on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Last fall’s event brought in 9,600 pounds from 65 growers. While the number of pounds brought in will not be known for a couple of weeks, it was a substantial pile of plastic diverted into the recycling stream and put toward industrial products. For years, Sonoma County growers have enthusiastically embraced recycling events.

Join us for our next recycling event, Vineyard Materials Recycling Day which will be on Thursday, November 6, from 8:00am- 2:00pm at the Sonoma County Transfer Station located at 166 Alexander Valley Rd., Healdsburg.

Accepted for FREE: drip hose, drip tube and tape, steel posts, PVC and metal irrigation pipe, grow tubes, plastic sheeting, trellis wire and clean rolled and tied bird netting. Pressure-treated wood will not be accepted. This recycling event is co-sponsored by The Ratto Group. A materials description form is required and is attached on the flyer below. For information on materials, contact Jerry Roy at jerry@unicycler.com.
